Where your LES comes from
myPay (DFAS). Guardians use myPay at mypay.dfas.mil, same as the Air Force. The LES layout is the standard DFAS format.
Space Force-specific gotchas
- Space Force pay runs on Air Force pay infrastructure, so the failure modes are the same: PCS ZIP updates, meal deduction stops, and special pay start/stop timing.
- Guardians transferring in from another branch: verify your Pay Entry Base Date carried over correctly. An inter-service transfer is exactly the kind of records event that miscomputes years of service.
- Check the RETPLAN field if you transferred: BRS coding must follow you, and with it your TSP automatic and matching contributions.
The five lines to check every month
- BASE PAY: Basic Pay errors almost always happen at a promotion or when your Pay Entry Base Date is recorded wrong.
- PAY DATE: If PEBD is wrong, your Basic Pay is wrong forever, including every future raise.
- RETPLAN: If this says the wrong plan, your TSP matching is wrong too.
- AGCY-MATCH: The match should move in lockstep with your own contribution.
- REMARKS: Read the remarks every single month.
