Where your LES comes from
Direct Access (PPC). Coast Guard members get their LES from Direct Access, run by the Pay and Personnel Center (PPC), not DFAS. The statement layout is its own format, but the pay rules are identical: same 2026 pay table, same BAS rates, same BAH system.
Coast Guard-specific gotchas
- The Coast Guard runs the smallest pay operation of the armed forces, and its system transitions have caused documented reserve pay problems. Reservists coming on and off active orders should audit each transition month.
- PPC processes corrections through e-Gov trouble tickets and your servicing yeoman. Document everything; small-system pay fixes move at the speed of your paperwork.
- All rates on this site apply to you: Coast Guard members are paid from the same basic pay table and BAS rates as DoD branches, even though the Coast Guard sits under DHS.
The five lines to check every month
- BASE PAY: Basic Pay errors almost always happen at a promotion or when your Pay Entry Base Date is recorded wrong.
- BAH: BAH is the number one source of real pay errors.
- BAS: If you are enlisted and your BAS shows anything other than the standard rate, something specific is going on: either BAS II authorization or a meal deduction situation.
- CR BAL: This is the number to plan vacations and terminal leave around.
- REMARKS: Read the remarks every single month.
